STSC is a supplier of Natural Rubber and Organic Cotton Elastic. These elastics are environmentally friendly alternative to conventional elastics as they are free from plastic and are home compostable. Note, decomposition timeframes will depend on microbiologically active soil.

To support circular design strategies and minimise transport emissions we only ship a minimum of 100 metres. Designers can easily access local elastics to explore different widths and then order from us once widths are determined so we don't use higher emissions when shipping small quantities.
CERTIFICATIONS
Organic Cotton is from Türkiye and holds the GOTS - Global Organic Textile Standard certified organic cotton with Control Union Certification
natural rubber from plantations in Malaysia (without child labor) and FSC certified
plus REACH compliant regulated by the European Union.
Either ecru undyed or dyed with STANDARD 100 by Oeko-Tex certified dyes
Dyed then woven.
Shrinkage. Elastics are pre-shrunk eg. with the influence of moisture, heat and pressure, a shrinkage is created that virtually eliminates subsequent shrinkage during the washing process.
Care instructions
Max. 40 degrees machine wash (the shrinkage is at a maximum of 5%)
Iron on a medium level if necessary
We recommend liquid detergents - for the sake of the environment and the materials
Do not tumble dry

It is suitable for light to medium-weight fabrics such as batiste, poplin, jersey or sweat. Stretch length is 100 % (+/- 10 %).
The tape can be pulled into clothing (tunnel) or worn directly on the skin. It feels very comfortable on the skin.

EXAMPLE 40mm for sewing underwear, trunks, pants. eg. using 40mm LIGHT
1. First cut the elastic to the right length.
2. Put the two ends on top of each other and sew them together with a backstitch a few centimetres from the edge. How long the ends are from the seam depends on the product. EG. 0.5 cm would be enough. This saves material. Tack the seam at the beginning and at the end.
3. Now fold the ends and sew along the edges with a zigzag stitch so it is neatly serged. Bar-tack the beginning and end of the seam.
You have now secured the elastic three times so that the elastic threads can no longer come out of the seam.
4. Sew the elastic ring to the fabric as usual with a cover stitch or zigzag stitch.
NOTES 40 mm elastic is a woven elastic. Due to the production process, it has one tight edge and one edge that will become wavy with frequent use. So that the wavy side is not visible on your product, we recommend that you join this side to the textile. if you want to make sure that you join the elastic to the textile on the right side, we suggest using the 40 mm elastic with marking thread.

The elastic band is available in a width of 50 mm and in the color ecru (untreated natural color). It is ideal for light to medium weight fabrics such as batiste, poplin, jersey, interlock or sweat. In addition, this versatile elastic band can also be used for other products besides clothing, for example for accessories, home textiles or creative DIY projects. The elasticity is approximately 120%, which ensures a reliable and flexible adjustment. This band is sanotized (Under the influence of moisture, heat and pressure, a shrinkage is created that virtually eliminates subsequent shrinkage during the washing process).
This high-quality elastic band can either be pulled into clothing (tunnel) or worn directly on the skin, and is extremely comfortable to wear. Ideal for making tailored clothing, sportswear, underwear or even costumes and theater clothing.
