The Organic Cotton holds the GOTS - Global Organic Textile Standard certified organic cotton with Control Union Certification and Oeko-Tex STANDARD 100 and is from from Türkiye.
The natural rubber is REACH certified regulated by the European Union. Oeko-Tex STANDARD 100 certified and FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council Certification) from plantations in Malaysia (without child labour)
Natural rubber is from Hevea brasiliensis and is a recognised source of latex. Allergic reactions can be caused by latex proteins from clothing elastic with natural rubber latex.
Either ecru undyed or dyed
Dyed with STANDARD 100 by Oeko-Tex certified dyes then woven.
TESTING.
OEKO-TEX explicitly states that STANDARD 100 covers compliance with the ECHA-SVHC Candidate List, as well as relevant REACH Annex XVII and XIV requirements (including PFAS).
OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 products are tested against more than 1,000 harmful substances, and that its limit values are reviewed at least annually.
The current OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification is evidence that the material has been assessed against the OEKO-TEX requirements incorporating the applicable Candidate List requirements.
These elastics are environmentally friendly alternative to conventional elastics as they are free from plastic and are home compostable. Note, decomposition timeframes will depend on microbiologically active soil. Anecdotal testing in independent worm farms have shown that the elastics will biologically decompose in periods between 8 weeks and 24 months with an optimal natural environment.
The biodegradability of a material combination of organic cotton and natural rubber was investigated and documented in a 371-day composting experiment. 371-day composting trial: organic cotton and natural rubber
To better understand the biodegradability of our material combinations, an elastic band made of organic cotton and natural rubber was examined and documented over 371 days under conditions of a simulated natural garden compost environment.
The organic cotton decomposed completely after 82 days. The natural rubber decomposed significantly more slowly and was largely decomposed after 371 days. The remaining fragments were very thin, porous, and brittle.
To comply with the current requirements of the EU Toy Safety Standard EN 71-3 and EN 71-12 the elastics are tested in laboratories with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory accreditation - international standard covering the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. Testing received a PASS for zero Heavy metals (Potentially harmful metals that could be present in the material) and N-nitrosamines & N-nitrosatable substances (Chemicals particularly relevant to certain rubber/elastomer materials.
STRETCH/SHRINKAGE/SANOFISE
Shrinkage. Elastics are pre-shrunk eg. with the influence of moisture, heat and pressure, a shrinkage is created that virtually eliminates subsequent shrinkage during the washing process. Due to the cotton component, the elastics can naturally shrink between % 5 and % 10.
Stretch. there are differences in some elastics, this is stated for each in the product descriptions below and Price list. We always recommend that you carry out tests on your own products.
Some elastics are sanofised. Under the influence of moisture, heat and pressure, a shrinkage is created that virtually eliminates subsequent shrinkage during the washing process.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Maximum 40 °C degrees machine wash (the shrinkage is at a maximum of 5 - for the sake of the environment. As a rule, laundry does not need to be washed hotter than that. However, the elastics can also withstand washing temperatures of 95 degrees Celsius. Even a steam sterilizer will not harm them.
Washable from 30 °C to 95 °C – depending on the item.
Iron on a medium level if necessary
We recommend liquid detergents - for the sake of the environment and the materials
Do not tumble dry
